Comparison of the 3 calibration types

Comparison table of the 3 types of calibration. For the external calibration, the criterion of choice is the linearity of the detector. The application is the analysis by spectrrophotometry or the analysis by HPLC-UV or HPLC-Fluo. Advantage: simple, disadvantage: to have the compound to be determined. For internal calibration: the criterion of choice is the fact that the method is not very repeatable. The application is the analysis by GC. The disadvantage is to choose well the AR. For the calibration by dosed addition, the criterion of choice is the matrix effect. The application is the analysis by atomic absorption or the analysis by LC-MS. Disadvantages: long and restrictive, not very precise.
