The analysis of a contaminant in a complex matrix (e.g. foodstuff) is a multistep process.

Exercise :
The different steps of this process are given below. Organise them to find the right way to approach a contaminant analysis (e.g. analysis of mycotoxin in coffee beans). Over to you!

Each one of these steps must be correctly performed so that the results of the analysis will be valid.

This sheet will deal more specifically with organic contaminants, for which the preservation of molecular information is required – he particular case of metallic contaminants is the special focus of the tab " To find out more "
