Determination of Cl- ions by colorimetric titration: the Fajans’ method
Procedure
- Sample 10 mL of the water to be analyzed and transfer it to a 100 mL beaker.
- Add several drops of sodium fluoresceinate (0.2 g in 100mL ethanol)
- Stir.
- Dose with a silver nitrate solution at 0.1 mol/L.
- Stop dosing when the red color persists.
